11/22/2023 0 Comments Robert stack unsolved mysteries stream![]() Which probably means the case will never be solved. ![]() He died in '99 and she lived another 10+ years. But you would have to assume he also hired someone to bang on the house, make the phone calls and do some of the other creepy shit.Īnd, if it was Bill trying to hurt/kill Dorothy, he didn't do a good job. Like the attack - though Bill could have hired out a goon to do it. It would also explain why the stakeout didn't work.īut, in other ways, the theory doesn't fit. They never found any fingerprints - but if it was Bill there wouldn't be any suspect prints to find. It would explain how the man always knew their new phone numbers even after they changed it. He didn't call the cops after the house was ransacked the first two times. ![]() Police also suspected Bill might have been the harasser. Which is strange, because you'd assume the person that attacked Dorothy the first time - who she didn't recognize - would be the stalker. That led them to believe that the stalker could have been someone the Wackers knew. The strange part is that police think the stalker wrote the notes with his off-hand to disguise his handwriting. The stalker was never caught and the Unsolved Mysteries story aired in 1994. Shortly after, they heard a banging and found another note on the porch that said: "Get the message." ![]() He and his son-in-laws watched the property from outside, but for some reason ended the stakeout at 10:30 p.m. They put up security lights, but the stalker left a note saying, "Your lights are a joke."ĭorothy was attacked again in 1993 and had to be hospitalized. They also started getting harassing phone calls and heard strange banging noises at night on their house. After the man left and she regained consciousness and was able to call a neighbor for help.Īfter the attack, the stalker slowly returned the items one by one starting with the handgun which was left in a bag on the porch. He stole a number of objects including a handgun and wrote a note in crayon on the wall: "Cheaper but will do." Dorothy was knocked out but not seriously hurt. He used the phone and then appeared to leave, but hid in the house and attacked Dorothy from behind. She didn't see a car, but she let him in. She let a man into her house who asked the used the phone after his car broke down. Then, later in 1985, Dorothy was attacked. It started with their house being broken into and ripped apart three times between 1984 and January of 1985. Someone harassed the Wackers (an older couple in their 50s/60s) for at least a decade. However, the case you mention reminds me of the case of Bill and Dorothy Wacker - which I saw on reddit a while back. I remember the Jeepers Creepers case, but I think that's only because I saw a rerun of that show when I was in high school not long after I saw the movie on some cable network (maybe Cinemax). Link to the website and Cindy's Wiki below.Īll I remember from the show, from when I was a kid, is gruff voiced Robert Stack standing in front of a dark, misty background, talking. Her sister wrote a book profiling the case, and some of the evidence is available on her website. If this were your life, you would be crazy too.Ĭan you really hogtie yourself while you’re on enough morphine to kill you? We may never know, as this case remains open. The evidence that she was simply nuts is pretty stacked, but who could do that to themselves for years on end? Also, no wonder we have such a stigma about mental illness in this country from the way they portray this poor women: rocking back and forth, all glassy eyed, locked up at the funny farm. She is eventually found hogtied and dead of a morphine overdose. Her parents believe her (as does her psychiatrist, and her inexplicably old friend Agnes) who thinks she knows more than she is telling them however the cops and one particularly smarmy journalist think she is full of it. The incidents, including two acts of alleged arson, left virtually no proof that the attacks were real and not staged. The most memorable case for me is Cindy James for six years, Canadian Cindy James reported hundreds of incidents of harassment and physical attacks against her to local authorities. I loved watching this show as a kid even though it probably emotionally scarred me for life.
